Origin is centered on the transitional nature of motherhood. Incorporating the passage of time, from springtime to winter and plump to wilted. The work is a still life response to the tender, and sometimes sticky, experience of birth and caring for a family. Recurring botanical elements echo springtime and the vernal freshness of childhood, when all is to be experienced and explored. Objects are presented as offerings, like souvenirs or artifacts of an era, sometimes directly, sometimes as temporary sculptures to evoke rather than define. The imagery is a vignette into domestic life and a window of time in motherhood.
